Frances B. Whitley, 89, of El Dorado, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home.

She was born Jan. 8, 1919, in Banks, to Victor Moss Bratton and Mary Lorene Nichols. She was a member of the Pink Lady at MCSA, El Dorado Garden Club, WMU at Second Baptist, Choir Director at Westside and Second Baptist and a member of Second Baptist Church. Frances was a retired secretary for Liberty Baptist Association.

Preceding her in death are her parents and her husband, Herbert James Whitley.

Survivors include a son, James E. Whitley and wife Jennifer of Malvern; a daughter, Mary Ann Durham of Bryant; a sister, Laverne Douglass of El Dorado; grandsons, Jamie, Tyler, Courtney, Aidyn Whitley; granddaughter, Amy James Crowell and husband Barry and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Averie, Addison Whitley, Hayley Crowell and Caleb Webb.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Young’s Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Taylor officiating and under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. There will be a private burial.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.
