Ross A. Carter, 97, of South Fork, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Alice Carter; and two sisters, Evelyn Carter Scott and Lucille Carter Slayton.

Survivors include a brother, Ray Carter of Texarkana; three nieces, five nephews and 18 great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was a disabled veteran of World War II and was a member of Beech Street Baptist Church.

Funeral was held on Friday at South Fork Cemetery with Bro. Steve Carter officiating. Visitation followed at South Fork Baptist Church with arrangements under the direction of Perry’s Funeral Chapels.
