Clara Mae Johnson, 76, of Columbus, Ga., and formerly of El Dorado, died Monday, July 21, 2008, at The Medical Center in Columbus.

The daughter of Alfred and Jewell Carvin Kendrix, she was born Sept. 14, 1932, in El Dorado. She was a housewife and a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Urbana. In Columbus, she was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Sonny Johnson.

Survivors include her husband, Lonnie Johnson of Columbus; three sons, Wayne Johnson of El Dorado, Lonnie Johnson Jr. of Grady and Earl Johnson of Columbus; seven daughters, Ellis Davis, Linda Barrett, Mable Jones, Joann Johnson, Patsy R. Johnson, Sherry Scruggs and Shelia Johnson, all of Columbus; seven sisters, Emma Barnes of El Dorado, Lorene Green, Linnie B. Barnes, Rosena Westbrook and Velma Kendrix of Urbana, Cora Rogers of Strong, and Mae Edna Winbone of Columbus.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Urbana under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home.

Public viewing will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
