KAY F. HALLKay Frances Hall, 59, of Magnolia, died on Saturday, July 19, 2008, surrounded by her family. Kay was born on Dec. 3, 1948, in Texarkana, Texas, to Charles David “C.D.” Hipp and Ida Aloyise (Hussey) Hipp. She lived in Texarkana, Fort Worth, Texas, and Blackwell, Okla., before moving to Magnolia with her family in 1958. She was preceded in death by her parents. Kay is survived by her husband of 38 years, Samuel Robert “Bobby” Hall of Magnolia; her brother, David Hipp and his wife, Judith, of Cabot; and three daughters, Amy Martin and her husband, Michael, of Lafayette, La., Stacy Pennington and her husband, Chris, of Texarkana, Ark., and Lory Barnett and her husband, Gavin, of Magnolia. As “MawMaw,” Kay doted on and blessed her five grandchildren, Riley and Rex Barnett, Bryce Pennington, and Samuel and Alexandre Martin, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Kay graduated from Magnolia High School in 1967 and from Southern State College (now Southern Arkansas University) in 1970. She returned to the classroom in 1980, and for the next 26 years she graced the hallways of Westside Kindergarten in Magnolia, touching the lives of thousands of children along the way. Kay was a member of First Baptist Church in Magnolia for 50 years. Her commitment to Christian education shined through her work as a Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and AWANA leader. In 2001, she traveled to Russia on a mission trip to write Sunday School literature for children. Her musical talents in Lines-and-Spaces, the Sanctuary Choir and as a handbell player, an organist and a pianist provided joy for all those who heard her. Pallbearers will be Larry Talley, Wayne Ross, Ronnie Hambrice, Huey Young, Mark Fullenwider, Danny Bullock, Trent Fuller and Ricky Talley.
