Weldon Eddie King, 66, of Strong, passed away on July 17, 2008, at the VA Hospital in Little Rock.

He was born on Aug. 12, 1941, in Strong, the son of Charlie Weldon and Martha Jane Anderson King.

Mr. King enjoyed cutting trees, helping coach the girl’s basketball in Strong, assisting the Crossett Eagles Swim Team and was an avid fisherman. He was an engineer for the AD & N Railroad and a member of Magnolia Baptist Church.

Mr. King was preceded in death by a son, Scott Keith King; and his father, Charlie Weldon King.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Carolyn King of Strong; three daughters, Nicole Winn (Greg) of Strong, Natascha King of Calion, and Nannette Frisby (Mike) of Crossett; his mom, Martha Jane Little of Strong; one sister, Joyce Jacobs (A.R.) of Strong; and eight grandchildren, James Theo Smith, Crockett Allen Smith, Luke Smith, Dylan Cameron Smith, Jonathan Samuel Winn, Charles Weldon Winn, Wyatt Garrett Carter and Madison Elizabeth Carter.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at Magnolia Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Griffith officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett. (www.jonesservice.com)

Visitation will be held from 5 until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
