RENEE GATHRIGHT
Renee “Nana” Gathright, 47, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, after fighting a battle with cancer for 12 years. She was a resident of Hudson Nursing Home where she received wonderful care.
Born on May 31, 1961, in Shreveport, La., she was the daughter of Doy and Mary McGhee Adkins. Renee was a wife, mother, nanny, teacher, and a very special person to everyone she knew. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church ,where she attended every time the doors were open. Renee loved God with all of her heart. A preschool teacher at Westside for many years, Renee loved her job and especially the kids she taught. Renee was very special and will be missed greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother-in-law, Emogene Gathright. Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Wayne Gathright of El Dorado; a son, Brandon Gathright and his wife, Anna, of El Dorado; daughters, Brandi Cotterman and her husband, George, of El Dorado, and Brianna Belton and her husband, Johnny Ray, of West Monroe, La.; grandkids, Brayden and Gage Cotterman, Hunter and Rebekah Gathright; a very special father-in-law, Doyle Gathright; and adopted parents, Earnest and Ella Keaster; brothers, Gary and Gwen Adkins of Baton Rouge, La., James and Donna Adkins of Sibley, La., Larry Adkins of Homer, La.; sisters, Janice Bunner of Haynesville, La., Vernetta and Gary Harrison of Haynesville, Kathy Goode of El Dorado, Geraldine Harmon of Meridian, Miss.; special friends, Karen Berry and Melva White; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral will be at 2 p.m., Friday, July 18, at First United Pentecostal Church with Pastor Terry K. Barber and the Rev. James Warbington officiating. Interment will follow in Harper Springs Cemetery by Bailey Funeral Home. The family will recieve friends at the home at 305 Wotapi, and from 5 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
