Jodie Sue Smith, 82, of Farmerville, La., and formerly of El Dorado, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008.

She was born Sept. 13, 1925, in Ranger, Texas. She was a retired secretary from the El Dorado Police Department and a member of First Presbyterian Church of El Dorado, which she loved dearly. She served the Lord and church in many ways.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James Smith; her parents; and a brother.

Survivors include one cousin, Vicki Cole and her husband, Jeffy, of Farmerville; and her uncle, Wilbur Platt of Monroe, La.

Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 18, at Young’s Chapel with Bro. Dale Jordan officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Rest Haven Memorial Park.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday until service time.
