MAXINE D. BURNS

Maxine Downs Burns, 91, of El Dorado, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008, at Doctors Hospice - St. Vincent in Little Rock.

She was born May 27, 1917, in Union County to Sydney Farley and Sally Ethel Hogg Farley. She was a retired bookkeeper for Wheeling Pipe Line, now known as Miller Transport, and a member of Parkview Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, Lynn Downs; and her second husband, Robert Burns.

Survivors include her daughter, Lyndae Harris of Little Rock; son, Richard Downs and his wife, Alisa, of Moore, S.C.; grandchildren, Chad Young and his wife, Melissa Young, of Belmont, Miss., Meagan Pope and her husband, Arnie, of Moore, Brooke Key and her husband, Marty, of Simpsonville, S.C.; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Lyle Hern officiating and under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be held from 7 until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 W. 12th St., Little Rock, AR 72204.
