Born on Jan. 16, 1933, in Corinth, Miss., he was the son of Joe Aaron and Cora V. Kemp. He was a mechanic for ElDo Craft.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Keith Kemp; and a sister, Mary Frances Haynes.

Survivors include daughter Charlotte Patterson of Winter Haven, Fla.; a son, Joe Edward Kemp Jr. of Smackover; sons David Kemp of Louann, Shawn Kemp of Smackover and Chris Kemp of Smackover; daughter Felicia Thomas of Dothan, Ala.; two brothers; two sisters; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and his ex-wife, Joy Annette Kemp of Murry City, Tenn.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in Young’s Chapel with Bro. Mark Stratton officiating. Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors in El Dorado.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
