On Monday, July 7, 2008, Connie Millican Gandy, 81, of Mount Holly, drew an inside straight to the Golden Gates of Heaven. There she was met by Sam Farris Gandy, her husband of 54 years; her loving mother and father, Eulah Gertrude Bailey Millican and Joseph Edgar Millican; two sons, James and Richard Gandy; one son-in-law, Harold J. Darden; three grandchildren, Shane Frisby, Bobby Embrey and David Hartsell; one great-granddaughter, Brandi Embrey; and a host of brothers, sisters, relatives and friends. This has been a day of rejoicing for Connie.

Connie leaves behind one son, Larry Gandy (Edie) of Mount Holly; five daughters, Peggy Frisby (Homer) of Mount Holly, Doris Hughes (Ray) of El Dorado, Alice Kitchens of Smackover, Eulah Embrey (Ross) of Mount Holly and Hilda Smith (Robert) of Shreveport, La. Also surviving is one brother, Marvin Millican of Magnolia; 17 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two on-the-way; and many relatives and friends.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 11, at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Inmon officiating. Interment will follow in Jolley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
