Dorothy Jane Sloan Nowlin, 82, of Hampton, died Tuesday July 8, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado.

The daughter of Benjamin and Bertha Faulkner Sloan, she was born Jan. 11, 1926 at Harrell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hayes Nowlin; one daughter, Priscilla Elaine Nowlin; one sister, Anna Lou Gilbert; one brother, Jim Sloan; and one grandchild, Kenny Nowlin.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Nowlin of El Dorado and Gary Nowlin of Bedford, Texas; three daughters, Linda Jones of Hampton, Nancy Nowlin of Minden, La., and Robin Parker of Bryant; two brothers, Leroy Sloan of Austin, Texas, and George Sloan of Garland, Texas; a sister, Sally Sprenger of Little Rock; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Means Cemetery with the Rev. Ricky Smith officiating and under the direction of Benton Funeral Home of Hampton.
