ALICE E. WILSON



Alice Elizabeth Dumas Wilson, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 4, 2008.

A lifelong resident of Union County, she was born on Nov. 14, 1915, to Alice Ophelia Roberson Dumas and Benjamin Moses Dumas. Her life was characterized by her dependence upon the Lord as she faithfully served Him in many capacities.

Besides being a mother, wife and grandmother; she was also active in her community. She was a charter member of Wyatt Home Extension Club, as well as many church organizations. She was a faithful member of First Assembly of God.

Mamaw, also known as “Aunt Lizzie” to some, was an avid cook. Her table was always full of food, love and laughter.

Preceding her in death were her parents; five brothers, Grover, Moses, Benjamin, David and Hudie Dumas; four sisters, Susie Harrell, Blanche Ball, Pearlie Wynn and Ludie Graham; and her beloved husband of 60 years, Charles Stewart Wilson.

Survivors are two sons Charles Wilson (Nancy) of El Dorado and Winston Wilson (Dolores) of Ozark; two daughters, Janice Smith (Paul) and Elizabeth Garner (Ed), all of El Dorado; 11 grandchildren, Velma Ariaz (Gary), Sue Yaller (Jeff), Ronnie Wilson (Karen), Stewart Wilson (Debra), Keith Smith (Teresa), Paula Yocum (Scott), Pam Blake (Earl), Teri Wilson, Eric Wilson (Jennifer), Shelly McMurtrey (Bobby) and Amy Wood (Shannon); 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at First Assembly of God with the Revs. Scott Ethridge and Gil Sills officiating.

Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado.

The family will receive friends for the visitation at First Assembly of God from 5 to 8 tonight and at the home of her son, Charles Wilson, at 2877 James Blvd., in El Dorado.
