AUTIE V. MILLICAN
Autie V. Millican, 87, of El Dorado, died on Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Oak Ridge Nursing and Rehab.
Born on Dec. 3, 1920, in Waldo, he was the son of Bartie Jessie Millican and Annie Bertha (McNatt) Millican. Mr. Millican was a World War II Army veteran having served under Gen. George Patton. He received several medals that included the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a pipefitter for Local Union 706 and member of Hillsboro Church of Christ. As a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, his world revolved around his family. When he wasn’t spending time with his family, he enjoyed woodworking in his shop and fishing. Preceding him in death were his parents and four brothers: M.A., Doyle, Otis and Cecil Ray Millican. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Othela Millican of El Dorado; a son, Gary Millican and wife, Karen of El Dorado; a daughter, Rhonda Millican of Smackover; grandchildren Hunter Millican of El Dorado, Meredith Ellerbe and husband, Jeffery, of El Dorado, and Ali Gates and husband, Jesse, of Searcy; and great-grandchildren Jackson and Jace Ellerbe. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday in Young’s Chapel with Bro. David Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home. The family will be at 304 Evans Drive in Parkers Chapel. Memorials may be made to Camp Kurios, P.O. Box 42, El Dorado, AR 71730.
