Ruby Jean Turner Fields, 51, of Austin, Texas, and formerly of Strong, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Seton Medical Center in Austin.

She was born Jan. 28, 1957, in Strong, was a 1975 graduate of Strong High School and was a member of New Testament Christian Church in Austin. She was employed as a cook.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin A. Turner; her stepfather, Marcus Newton; and two half-sisters, Annie Dell Cunningham and Emma Jean Newton.

Survivors include her husband, Roland Fields of Austin; a son, Carl Raybon of Austin; a daughter, Brittany Fields of Austin; her mother, Lorene Rivers Turner of El Dorado; three brothers, Benjamin Turner and Bruce Turner, both of El Dorado, and Alvin Turner Jr. of Austin; five half-brothers, Evertte Newton, Chester Newton, Robert Wimberly, Calvin Johnson and Lethaniel Barnes; three sisters, Cynthia Buggs of El Dorado, Glenda Miller of Austin and Tamy Brown of Des Moines, Iowa; and four half-sisters, Janice Scott, Rose Mary King, Lori Capers and Margaret Newton.

Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Springhill Baptist Church in Oakland, La., with the Rev. Albert Collins officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home.

There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home or during the service.

The family will be at 1207 Roosevelt St., El Dorado.
