Naomi Porchia Johnson, 53, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, Ill.

She was born Jan. 7, 1955, in Buena Vista, the daughter of Dr. Edgar A. and Mamie Moore Porchia. She was formerly a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Buena Vista and First Baptist Church-Cordell in El Dorado. She was a member of Greater Paradise Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and director of children’s church and was a member of the Ruth’s Sunday School Class. She attended Stephens Elementary School and Barton Junior High and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1974. She was employed by ConAgra Foods for 15 years.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Verdia Porchia Anderson; maternal grandparents, the Rev. James and Lydia Moore; and paternal grandparents, the Rev. William and Loueaster Porchia.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur Lovell Johnson of El Dorado; three sons, Brandon Rodriguez Aaron of Arlington, Texas, Marcus DeShawn Aaron and Christopher Leon Aaron, both of Little Rock; one stepdaughter, Swanzetta Dawn Johnson of Marvell; eight brothers, William and Emanuel Porchia, both of El Dorado, Edgar A. Porchia Jr. of Little Rock, Russell Porchia of Essexville, Mich., Shadrach Porchia of Camden, Ronnie Porchia of Enterprise, Ala., Roy Porchia of Little Rock and Phillip A. Porchia of Clarkvilles, Texas; seven sisters, Carolyn Waller, Bobby Massey and Phyllis Porchia, all of El Dorado, JoAnn Washington and Vivian Manning, both of Little Rock, Cynthia Wallace of Dallas, and Tonya Green of Camden; and three grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Paradise Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip A. Porchia officiating. Burial will be in Eternal Rest Cemetery in Camden under the direction of Sims Mortuary.

Family hour will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Greater Paradise Baptist Church, 729 Marsh St., El Dorado.
