Jewell Smith, 90, of Baton Rouge, La., formerly of Magnolia, died on Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Baton Rouge.

Born on Oct. 20, 1917, in Columbia County, she was the daughter of James H. and Caroline Susan (Hudson) Hollensworth. She was a member of First Baptist Church, a homemaker and a former nurse at the Magnolia Sanitarium.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence G. Smith; six brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in Lewis Chapel with Bro. Rodger Dunlap officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her nephews. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Magnolia.
