Jeanne Barmore Purtymun, 59, of El Dorado, died on Friday, June 27, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas following a long illness.

Born on Feb. 14, 1949, in Lake Providence, La., she was the daughter of Charles J. and Arie Jackson Barmore. Mrs. Purtymun was a graduate of Northwest State in Natchitoches, La., and had taught elementary school.

She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and caring for her family.

Mrs. Purtymun was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors are her husband, John Purtymun; and a daughter, Brittney Purtymun, both of El Dorado; brothers Randy Barmore of Russellville, Joe Barmore of Dallas, Texas, and Jackie Barmore of Etters, Pa.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at Parkview Baptist Church with the Revs. Tommy Mellinger and Lyle Hern officiating.

Interment will be in Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. today.
