Jacob Green, 57, of Strong, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.

Born July 20, 1950, to Junious and Pinkie Williams Green, he was a member of Pleasant Hill AME Church and a graduate of Gardner High School in Strong. He was employed as a logger with Smith & Scott Logging for more than 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his father; a daughter, Vanessa Thompson; and three sisters, Carol Ann and Vera Ann Green and Dessie Mae Warren.

Survivors include his wife, Myrna G. Green of Strong; his mother, Pinkie Green; children, Rhonda Green, Nathan Green, Tanya Green, Jacob O’Neal Green and Carolyn Thomas, all of Strong; brothers, O.B. Green and Lutha Green, both of Strong; sisters, Gutha Lethridge, Mae Retha Flakes and Geraline Celestine, all of Houston, and Ruby Jewel Green and Eilene Levingston, both of Strong; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Curry Chapel AME Church in Strong under the direction of Tennant Family Funeral Home of Farmerville, La.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Pleasant Hill AME Church on Aurelle Road in Strong.
