Doug West, 53, of Magnolia, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2008, in Lafayette County.

He was born Nov. 6, 1954, in Magnolia. He was a salesman for Jordan Brothers for 20 years and owned Something Special with his wife, Sandi. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, president of the Class of 1973 at Magnolia High School, a member of the American Motorcycle Association for 15 years, and rode a motorcycle 1,000 miles in 24 hours, which made him a member of the Iron Butt Association.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandfather, Homer White Sr.; grandmother, Lettie Marie White; and uncle, Homer White Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Sandi West of Magnolia; two sons, Chad West and his wife, Christian, of Magnolia, and Todd West of Baton Rouge, La.; his mother, Kathy Montene Allen; a brother, Corky Prince and his wife, Tammy; grandchild, Grayson West; mother-in-law, Gladys Pinson; Sandi’s daughter, Shannon Gilfillian and her husband, Todd, and her two children, Taylor White and Gage Gilfillian, all of Magnolia; Tom West of Baton Rouge; Jill West of Florida; and life-long friend, Dr. Pat Antoon.

Funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Central Baptist Church with David Wood and Tom Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Pat Antoon, Clay Boreing, John Boreing, Jay Elliott, Milton Hambrice, and Mike Hall.
