Grady A. Howard, 78, of Hermitage, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, in Bastrop, La.

The son of Thomas W. Howard and Loetta Glosson Howard, he was born May 13, 1930, in Bradley County. He was a retired shipping manager for Olin Chemical Co., a retired U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post No. 10442, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Herman Howard, T.J. Howard Jr., and Carroll Howard.

Survivors include a son, Danny Ray Howard of Warren; three daughters, Deborah Smith of Montross, Va., Patty Morales of Buffalo, N.Y., and Jennifer White of Wilmar; three brothers, Eugene Howard of Arkadelphia, James Howard of Monticello, and Jimmy Howard of Alexander; one sister, Carolyn Wilson of Monticello; and six grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Frazer’s Chapel in Warren. Burial will be in Hickory Springs Cemetery under the direction of Frazer’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Frazer’s.
