Omega Linda Burton, 80, of El Dorado, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at the John Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado.

Born Jan. 11, 1928, in Collins, she was the daughter of James Sylvester Simmons and Irene Perry Simmons. She was a retired U.S.D.A. inspector and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was the last surviving child of 18 children and was also preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Olin Kenneth Burton.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Burton of Siloam Springs and Jerry Burton of El Dorado; two daughters, Phyllis Mauldin of Lavonia, Ga., and Theresa Schell of Pearce City, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Union Ridge Cemetery in Monticello with the Rev. Faron Rogers officiating and under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
