EMMIE M. VANCE
Emmie Mae Vance, 91, of Norphlet, died Saturday, June 22, 2008, at her home following a sudden illness.
Born May 18, 1917, in El Dorado, she was the daughter of Hardy and Melvina Bass Leveritt. A homemaker, Mrs. Vance enjoyed caring and cooking for her family. She was a member of the Norphlet Baptist Church. Mrs. Vance was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Helen Beavert, Ruth Powell and Ada Fisher; brothers Jimmy, Robert, Joseph and William Leveritt; a grandson, Mark Tyler Vance; and her husband, Wallace Nolen Vance Sr. Survivors are sons, Wallace N. Vance Jr. and his wife, Janis, of El Dorado, William Rodney Vance and his wife, Ricky, of Pine Bluff, Glenn Dolan Vance and his wife, Trudy, of Strong; daughters, Thelma Jean McDaniel of Gautier, Miss., Gloria Paulette Honea and her husband, Paul, of Sheridan; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren. Graveside services by Bailey Funeral Home will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Gerald Perry officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. An online registry is available at www.baileyfuneralhome.net.
