Opal C. Fennell, 88, of El Dorado, died on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas following a lengthy illness.

Born on Nov. 11, 1919, at Holly Grove, La., she was the daughter of John and Corrie Richardson Cupp. Mrs. Fennell graduated from beauty school in Shreveport and worked in beauty shops in the El Dorado area. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death along with her parents were a son, Herman Fennell; and a brother, Travis Cupp.

Survivors include her husband, William C. “Bill” Fennell of El Dorado; two sons, William B. “Billy” Fennell of Homer, La., and Allen Fennell of El Dorado. Also surviving is one brother, Odis Cupp of Orange, Texas; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in Bailey Chapel with the Rev. R. L. Dison officiating. Interment will be in Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
