Carmen Eler “Honny” Taylor, 92, of Junction City, died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado following a lengthy illness.

Born Sept. 3, 1915, in Lillie, La., she was the daughter of Willis and Elerfaire Denton Aycock. Mrs. Taylor was a graduate of Chillicothe College in Missouri with a business degree. To assist with expenses of college, she assisted the cafeteria chef and was in charge of making salads for the meals.

Mrs. Taylor was later employed by Lion Oil Co. in the Land Department and after retirement she prepared income taxes for many years. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in El Dorado.

Preceding her in death along with her parents were her son, William Alvin Taylor; a sister, Cornelia Aycock; and brothers, Grady, Austin, Minor, Limous and Osbie Aycock.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, William Elmer “Pop” Taylor of Junction City; two sisters, Nolia Wood of Tyler, Texas, and Ruby Stewart of Farmerville, La.; grandchildren, Jillinn Taylor White of Atlanta, Ga., and William A. “A. J.” Taylor Jr. and his wife, Molly, of El Dorado. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Addy Taylor and Lilly Taylor; and her daughter-in-law, Sharon Taylor of Junction City.

Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, in Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in Junction City with the Rev. Scott Etheridge officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Junction City under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Junction City.
