Betty Jean Barnes, 77, of El Dorado, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at her residence.

Born Jan. 4, 1931, in Brookhaven, Miss., the daughter of Willie and Edna Earl Walker West, she was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 52 years, Everett Roy Barnes; and sister, Rona Sue Mason.

Survivors include three sons, Bruce Barnes of Bartlesville, Okla., Robert Barnes of Independence, Mo., and Mark Barnes of El Dorado; one daughter, Gail Russum of Independence; and three grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Arlington Memorial Park with the Rev. Tommy Robertson officiating and under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
