Robert Lee Hicks Jr., 63, of Norphlet, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at his home.

He was born on Jan. 11, 1945, in Norphlet, the son of Robert Lee Hicks Sr. and Irene Feaster Hicks. He was a graduate of Smith High School in Norphlet and Philander Smith College in Little Rock with a bachelor of arts degree. He retired as an employment counselor with Employment Security Division in Louisville, Ky. He was a member of New Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Norphlet.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, William Anthony (Bill) Hicks.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Hicks of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sons, Bryan Kenneth Hicks and Michael Hicks of Knoxville; his mother, Irene Hicks of Norphlet; a brother, James Hicks of Little Rock; two sisters, Marilyn Hill of Tulsa, Okla., and Patricia Borders of Gary, Ind., and two grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Norphlet with the Rev. Lee Vell Faison officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home.

Viewing will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
