Grady Palmer, 75, died May 12, 2008, in Castro Valley, Calif.

The son of A.C. and Viola Palmer, he was born March 8, 1933, in the Mount Willie Community in Union County. He graduated from Washington High School in El Dorado and served in the U.S. Army. For 29 years he worked for the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. He was a member of Union Baptist Church in Oakland, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father and brothers, Raymond and Jerry.

Survivors include his wife, Ezeller; his mother, of the Mount Willie Community; a son, Herbert; his siblings, Lucy Dunwood, Eula Davis, Floyd Palmer, and Charles R. Palmer of El Dorado, Willie Palmer of Vallejo, Calif., Ira Mijaries and Robert Palmer of Los Angeles.

Funeral was held May 20 at Union Baptist Church in Oakland under the direction of C.P. Bannon Mortuary of Oakland.
