George R. Wallace, 83, of El Dorado, died at his residence on Sunday, June 1, 2008, following a brief illness.

Born March 13, 1925, in Rector, he was the son of John and Morea Adney Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a member of Hickory Grove Chapel. He also enjoyed watching baseball and wood carving. Mr. Wallace had a long career in trucking, driving for Mayflower and Lyons moving companies, then working as an owner/operator, and ending as owner of A and R Trucking.

Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judy Larley; a son, Johnny Wallace; and grandson, Corbin Goodman.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Morris Wallace; a daughter, Georgetta Goodman and her husband, Leroy; a son, Roy Wallace and his wife, Brenda, all of El Dorado; sisters, Anna Sass of Lancaster, Calif., and Bonita Nelson and her husband, Murry, of Scott.

Grandchildren are Aaron Wallace and his wife, Rhonda, Erica Martinez and her husband, Joey, and Tommy Goodman. Great- grandchildren are Corbin, Marcell, Salomon and Ezekiel Martinez.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, at Arlington Memorial Park with the Revs. Roy Perdue, Dayln Hebling, Phillip Nelson, and Jack Webb officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. today at Bailey Funeral Home.
