GROVER D. DARDEN JR.
Grover D. “Buddy” Darden Jr., of Flint Hill, Va., formerly of Alexandria, La., and a native of Haynesville, La., passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at his home, Vista Hermosa Farm, Virginia.
Born March 25, 1953, in El Dorado, he was the beloved son of Grover D. and Peggy Goza Darden of Haynesville. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother, Peggy Darden; his siblings, Kay Darden Stephens of Trenton, Ill., and Alan Darden of Norphlet. He is also survived by nephews, Sumner Darden, Russell Stephens and Judd Stephens, plus many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends, and his very special friend, Richard Lykes of Flint Hill, Va., and Washington, D. C. Buddy graduated from Haynesville High School, attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston and graduated from the University Of Texas. He was an architect in Alexandria for 12 years and then was employed by the Department of Justice Federal Prison Bureau in Washington, D. C. for the past several years. Buddy was a generous, loving person who was always happy and willing to serve his family and many friends with his multiple talents and loving spirit. He will be missed but never forgotten. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, at the Haynesville United Methodist Church. No flowers, please.
