Madeline Utter Cornett Bryant, 96, of Warren, died on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Bradley County Medical Center.

Born on Aug. 7, 1911, in Kingsland, she was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Utter and Mattie Parnell Utter. She was a retired sitter and a charter member and oldest member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Ernest Clyde Cornett and A.E. Bryant; a son, Ernest Cornett; a daughter, Virginia Szot; a grandson, Jimmy Brooks; and three stepsons, Jimmy, Billy and Charlie Bryant.

Survivors include three daughters, Martha Kimbrell of Warren, Sue McMillian of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Mona Morgan of Warren; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and a host of stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in Frazer’s Chapel. Burial will be in Willoughby Cemetery under the direction of Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
