Barbara B. Marks died on Wednesday, May 8, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas.

Born Dec.11, 1918, in Colchester, Ill., she was the daughter of William R. and Gladys Baumgardner. The family moved to El Dorado in 1933. She retired from the Union County Sheriff’s Office in 1975, after 20 years of service. A second retirement came in 1990 from the U. S. Probation Office after 15 years. She was a member of Second Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, W.T. “Dub” Marks; a son, Thomas W. Marks; and a brother, Jack Baumgardner.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Marcia Marks Lindsey of Little Rock; grandsons, Derek Marks of Little Rock and Brad Marks of Alexander; stepson, Donald R. Marks of Norphlet; three step-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; and a nephew, William B. Baumgardner of Conway.

No funeral services are scheduled.
