Birdie M. Reedy, 78, of El Dorado, died on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas.

She was born on Oct. 20, 1920, in Plain Dealing, La., the daughter of Sam and Samelia Stovall James. She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church and was a custodian for Dixie Maintenance.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and her husband, George Reedy.

Survivors include a son, Robert Reedy of El Dorado; two daughters, Evet Flanagan of Oakland, Calif., and Betty Burrell of Valrico, Fla.; one brother, Charles D. James of Tacoma, Wash.; four sisters, Maggie Bland of Tacoma, Syletta Ratliff of Pine Bluff, Minnie Pearl James of Sacramento, Calif., and Sammie Lee Harris of Gig Harbor, Wash.; and six grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
