Deloris Ann Johnson Kirkland, 75, of Woodville, Texas, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 17, 1933, in El Dorado, to Albertus L. and Denver Rhodes Johnson. She was a longtime resident of Tyler County and had been secretary of the First Christian Church of Woodville for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C.J. Kirkland.

Survivors include her daughters, Karen Gual of Dallas, Vicki Bell of Woodville, Lillie Swearingen of Colmesneil, Texas, and Peggy Townsend of Zavalla, Texas; sister, Betty Perdue of El Dorado; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial in Old Shiloh Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Caring Is Sharing or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Services are under the direction of Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home, 113 W. Holly, Woodville.
