A story out of Arkansas County last week was so very sad and highlighted how those with the best of intentions can end of causing harm for animals in need of rescue.

Sue Bennett of Almyra had been rescuing dogs since at least 2000. On Monday, the Humane Society of the United States intervened and took 80 to 100 dogs from her property. The animals were in cramped, dirty and muddy kennels, shaded from the summer heat with tattered tarps.
