A copy of “The Taxpayers Network 50 State Comparisons” handbook for 2008 arrived in the mail last week. This little compilation of data is always interesting. The complete info is available online at www.taxpayersnetwork.org, but I always like to share some of the figures that don’t always make headlines.

The handbook includes crime stats, information on natural gas prices, electricity costs and other data that are reported in the news from time to time, so below are some of the statistics you may not hear about as often.
