MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Patrick A. Smith, a native of El Dorado and a former associate vice-president with Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co., has been named senior vice president, North Alabama Marketing by Alfa Insurance effective today.

He replaces J.C. Ralph, who retires on June 30.

Smith is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University and in 1995, he started his insurance career as an agent with Louisiana Farm Bureau. He later moved into management positions at Newcourt Financial in Toronto and the Erie Insurance Group in Erie, Pa.
