A few days ago I responded personally to a column Sara Mitchell had written saying that this years’s presidential election is “un-American”.

She was kind enough to reply and suggested, among other things, to submit my response to her to the paper for publication. After some reflection, (and the fact that I had saved a copy), here it is.
