A recent news report indicates that the State of Arkansas is considering creation of a “Commerce Department.”

A group called the Task Force for the 21st Century Economy suggests this may be the time to merge three state agencies – Arkansas Development Finance Authority, Arkansas Economic Development Commission and the Arkansas Science and Technology Authority – into one. There’s also talk about a physical merger of the agencies.
