Arkansas announces extensions for coaches

FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas has signed its Razorbacks head baseball coach, head men's track coach, head women's track coach, head men's golf coach, head women's golf coach and head women's softball coach to contract extensions, Arkansas Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek announced Wednesday.

All the contracts extend through June 30, 2023.

The coaches are Dave Van Horn, coming off guiding the baseball program to national runner-up at the College World Series, Chris Bucknam, adding his 20th SEC men's championship last fall winning cross country to his 2013 NCAA indoor championship, two-time women's national championship coach Lance Harter winning last season's SEC cross country and indoor championships with a team runner-up at the NCAA indoor, Brad McMakin, piloting the Razorbacks men's golf team to 12th at the NCAA championships, Shauna Taylor, who coached Arkansas women's golf to its first-ever SEC championship last spring, and Courtney Deifel, who advanced the Razorbacks softball team to their first ever Super Regional after her Razorbacks won the Fayetteville Regional at Bogle Park.

Van Horn will be paid $925,000 annually off base salary plus speaking engagements and camps.

Bucknam and Harter each earn $250,000 through salary and speaking engagements and camps.

McMakin and Taylor each will earn $225,000 through salary and speaking engagements and camps.

Deifel will earn $285,000 through salary, speaking engagements and camps.
