Strong falls in home opener

STRONG - Strong got nearly 200 yards rushing from Derrion Davis and LeAndrew Greer, but it wasn’t enough, as Lake Village knocked off Strong 20-6 in a non-conference clash at Jerry Burson Field Friday night.

The squads played one day after the five-year anniversary of their last meeting, a 26-12 win for Strong.

Davis topped the century mark, finishing with 112 yards on 24 carries for the Bulldogs (0-2).

LeAndrew Greer racked up 85 yards rushing on 17 carries, and he was also responsible for Strong’s lone points in the game.

A senior, Greer intercepted a pass and returned it 25 yards for a score, but that would be the extent of Strong’s scoring in the contest.

The Beavers improve to 2-0 with the win and will take on Dumas next week.

The Bulldogs will play the second game of a three-game homestand when they host Rison.
