ELBERT GIVINGS

Elbert Givings AKA “Soul Man” and “Twin” was born on Aug. 6, 1945 to Estell Marbray and Thelbert Givings, Sr.

He was a member of Triumph The Church.

Elbert was an employee of the Union County Hwy. Department. He loved driving 18-wheelers, grilling, listening to blues and riding motorcycles.

He passed on Aug. 29, 2018 at Hospice Health Care and was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Thelbert Givings, Jr. and Jack Page and sister, Maggie Sue Anderson.

Survivors are his wife, Mollie Givings of El Dorado; sons, Thomas L. Giving (Chuckie) of El Dorado, and Delton Jones of Las Vegas; daughters, Trialiniah Brodnax of Lafayette, Indiana, and Larosha Lacy of Memphis, Tennessee; sister, Louise Cannon of Lorain, Ohio; brother, Earl Harris (Vivian) of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Tommas Givings, Tyrice Fletcher, Tyriq Fletcher, Ishin Jones, Paris Jones and Kiara Jones; a great-grandchild, Jani Fletcher.

Public visitation from noon until 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 at Sims Mortuary. Funeral services Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Douglas Chapel Baptist Church.
