West Side Christian posted its biggest volleyball victory of the young season Tuesday.

The Lady Warriors upended Columbia Christan 3-1 at the Warrior Center and improved to 3-0 on the season.

West Side won 25-22, 15-25, 25-19, 25-21.

"This was a very nice win for us, beating the defending state champs,” said West Side coach Adam Willett. “We played our most aggressive game all year and, at times, looked really good.”

Anna Williams recorded 13 kills to lead the Lady Warriors. Lauren Land had four kills and six blocks. Brooklin Pitard also recorded four kills.

“Our starting libero, Carley Dugal, was out some last week and out the first two sets tonight, but having her come back into the rotation really got our team playing comfortably and back in rhythm,” said Willett. “We were led the entire night by our three hard hitting upperclassman and their toughness really carried us."

Columbia Christian won the junior varsity match 25-13, 25-17.
