James Thomas Slade, Sr, 81, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 at his home. James was born Aug. 7, 1937 in Bastrop, Louisiana to his parents, the Rev. John E. Slade, Sr. and Alma Townsend Slade. He was a loving father, grandfather and die hard Razorback Fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Winnie Slade; brothers, Johnny Slade, Scott Slade, Carley Slade; sisters, Mildred Murphy and Elizabeth Slade.
He is survived by two sons, James Thomas Slade, Jr. and wife, Monica of El Dorado, and Ronald DeWayne Slade and wife, Jo Ellen of Tullas, Louisiana; daughter, Elizabeth Marie Fletcher and husband, Jimmy of Olla, Louisiana; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; host of friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 until 11 a.m. on Friday. Funeral service will be at 11 a.am. Friday at Proctor Funeral Home followed by interment at New Hope Cemetery in Woodberry. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
