LITTLE ROCK - West Side Christian won its first-ever championship in the AACS South Division Volleyball Tournament Saturday. The Lady Warriors beat defending champion Columbia Christian School 3-0 in the finals.

West Side won by scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-19.

“I’m proud of how hard our girls played today,” said Coach Adam Willett. “We were locked in from the beginning and played on the attack all day. This was a great win for our school and a great win for these group of girls, particularly our seniors. We can’t wait to get back on the floor next week to make a run for a state title.”

Senior Anna Williams had eight kills, eight assists and two aces in the championship match. Lauren Land, a senior, had seven kills, two assists and two blocks. Junior Brooklin Pitard had seven kills, seven assists and five aces.

"This trio is the heart of our team. As they go, the team goes,” Willett said. “They’ve been playing for a long time together and their leadership is vital to our team.”
