Chamber closed today, courthouse closing early

The El Dorado-Union County Chamber of Commerce will be closed today because of MusicFest, which continues today and Saturday in downtown El Dorado.

The Union County Courthouse will close at 3 p.m. today because of road closures downtown associated with MusicFest.

S.I.G.H.T. to meet Sunday

S.I.G.H.T. (Sight Impaired Group Help Team) will meet at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Dumas Memorial Methodist Church, 132 South Wyatt Drive.

Entertainment will be presented by vocalist Bill Keys. The public is invited.

Old Fashion Gospel Singing to be held Sunday

An Old Fashion Gospel Singing will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Municipal Auditorium. Cost is $5 at the door plus non-perishable food item or new children’s toy. All net proceeds benefit the Salvation Army Angel Tree Christmas Program. Captains Jason and Elyshia Perdieu from the Salvation Army will be present to accept donations.

AACA 2018 Life Changing Summit to be held Saturday

The African American Coalition of Arkansas’s (AACA) 2018 Life Changing Summit will be held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday at Divine Faith Full Gospel Church, 1218 E. Hillsboro St., El Dorado.

Guests will include the Rev. J. Turner, Pastor Cliff Preston and Keynote Speaker-Congressman Bruce Westerman.
