BENNIE E. DUNN

Bennie E. Dunn, Sr., 85, of Huttig passed away on Oct. 16, 2018.

He was born on July 19, 1933 in West Monroe, Louisiana to Ed and Girthie Lee Dunn.

Bennie was a member of Masonic Lodge 750 and served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was lifetime member of the NRA and in his leisure time he was a Ham Radio Operator. Bennie worked for KTVE for 47 years as a Broadcast Engineer before retiring. Above all he was a servant to the Lord. He was a member of 2nd Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Strong where he delivered devotionals for 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 54 years, Betty Lou Nelson Dunn; daughter, Laura Stewart (John Sammy) of Huttig; son, Bennie “Ed” Dunn (Brooke) of Camden; grandchildren, Savannah and Ben Dunn of Camden; sister, Virginia L. Roe (Ike) of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; cousins, Virginia Danna (Steve) of Farmerville, Louisiana, Ann Clark of Calhoun, Louisiana, Carol Sue Thavenet of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Peggy Dunn Prescott of Tampa, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 until 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018 at 2nd Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Strong. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. officiated by Bro. Robert Lyons. Followed by interment at Lapile Cemetery under the direction of Perry’s Funeral Chapels.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the Lapile Cemetery Fund at 712 Bolding Rd. Huttig, AR 71747.
