Talking money: Dennis Milligan, state treasurer, visited Parkers Chapel fourth grade students Tuesday afternoon as part of starting their unit of AR Finance AR Future program. The program, which is done online and administered through the treasurer’s office, is focused on teaching students about fiscal responsiblity and the importance of saving money. The Vault - Understanding Money course provides students with interactive lessons and situations. It’s geared toward fourth through sixth grade students and teaching about financial literacy early. Milligan started the program shortly after entering office in 2015 and has impacted approximately 30,000 students, Milligan said. The program is available to schools at no cost.
