SMACKOVER - After picking up a huge conference win at Prescott last week, there was no letdown for Smackover, as the Bucks cruised to a 49-0 win over Fouke Friday night in 5-3A play.

Greg Turner rushed for 100 yards and scored three touchdowns on just seven carries for the Bucks (6-1, 4-0).

Dexter Crockett made the most of his three carries in the victory, scoring two touchdowns en route to finishing with 87 yards on the ground.

Turner opened the scoring for the Bucks with 3:07 left in the opening period on a 49-yard run with Harley Williams’ extra point making it 7-0.

Just under two minutes later, Turner found the end zone on a 9-yard run with Williams booting the extra point to extend the lead to 14-0.

Smackover led by the same score after the opening period, but quickly extended their lead in the second stanza thanks to a big play from their special teams.

Jaqueze Modica, who caught a touchdown pass in last week’s win at Prescott, returned a punt 21 yards to paydirt with Williams’ third straight extra point making it 21-0.

Modica also caught three passes for 37 yards in the win.

With 8:34 left in the half, Crockett scored the first of his two touchdowns on an 8-yard run to push the lead to 28-0 with Williams’ extra point.

Three minutes later, Turner scored on a 25-yard run, and Williams’ fifth extra point of the half giving the Bucks a 35-0 lead.

The Bucks led by the same score at intermission and capped their scoring in the third period.

This time, Smackover went through the air with Roshard Boone throwing a 47-yard touchdown pass to Dawson Biggers with the extra point from Williams making it 42-0.

Crockett then got the bulk of his 87 yards in the game on one play by racing 76 yards for a score. Williams’ extra point made the final margin.

Overall, the Bucks finished with 347 yards of total offense in the win.

Smackover’s defense also played well, holding the Panthers (2-5, 1-3) to just 65 yards of total offense and six first downs.

The Bucks will play at Genoa Central next week in a 5-3A clash.
