Police continue search for homicide suspects

Reward offered for information leading to arrests

El Dorado police are continuing the search for two suspects wanted in connection with separate homicides from October.

Ira L. Baker, Jr., 25, is wanted in connection with an Oct. 7 shooting the left one man dead, while Jacovis D. James, 23, is wanted in connection with an Oct. 28 shooting that left two people dead and two others hospitalized.

Baker is wanted on an active felony arrest warrant for first-degree murder, first-degree battery, terroristic act, possession of a firearm by certain person, felony with a firearm, certain offenses committed in the presence of a child, trafficking of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and a parole violation.

Officers were called to the area of Stuart and Elm at approximately 4:30 p.m. Oct. 7 in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, they found 35-year-old Darris C. Davis of Little Rock lying on the ground in front of the residence at 212 Stuart. He was approximately 20 to 30 feet from the residence, police said. Davis sustained a gunshot wound to the face and was later pronounced dead. His body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for an autopsy.

Baker, who is considered by police to be the suspected shooter, is described as a black male with a dark complexion, 6 feet, 1 inch tall and 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

James is wanted on an active felony arrest warrant for two counts of capital murder, two counts of attempted capital murder, aggravated robbery and an enhanced penalty of felony with a firearm.

Officers responded at approximately 12:30 a.m. Oct. 28 to a report of shots fired at White Quarters, No. 2, and upon arrival, police saw that the front door was open and heard a woman’s voice inside the residence calling for help. When officers entered the residence, they discovered four gunshot victims in various rooms throughout the residence.

Aric D. Hall, 28 of El Dorado, and 30-year-old Darrishica Rogers of North Little Rock were pronounced dead on the scene and Remondo B. Caver, 29, and Marquesha D. Young, 26, both of El Dorado, were seriously injured.

Both Baker and James are considered to be armed and dangerous, and residents are urged to use extreme caution.

Anyone with information on Baker’s or James' whereabouts is urged to contact El Dorado police Detective Scott Snell or Lt. Scott Harwell at 870-881-4810 or Crime Stoppers at 870-863-INFO. Anyone who gives information that leads to Baker’s or James' arrest will be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
