Irma Bounds McCullar, 85 of Junction City, AR, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at her home.
Irma Glynn was born August 27, 1932, in Union County, AR, to the union of James B. Jolley and Inez Carter Jolley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Lynn Bounds.
Irma Glynn attended elementary school in Haynesville, LA, and Parkers Chapel. She graduated from Junction City High School in 1950, where she was the Salutatorian of her class, member of the Drum and Bugle Corps, and was Homecoming Queen.
Irma began her secretarial work career at Griffin Auto, then in the Purchasing Dept. at Murphy Oil until the birth of her second child. Later, Irma was employed as a medical transcriptionist at Associated Pathologists for several years. She and her husband, Lynn, became self-employed with the start-up of L. Bounds & Son and continued in that business until his death.
For the last 14 years, Irma enjoyed a life of travel with her second husband, Doyle. They attended military reunions and vacations at destinations all across the U.S., but Branson was their favorite.
Irma loved children, animals, and flowers. She would come alive at the sight of any of her seven grandchildren or fourteen great grandchildren who all knew her as “Mamaw.”
Survivors include her husband of 14 years, Doyle McCullar, one daughter, Belinda Bounds Hall and husband Ronnie, one son, James “Pill” Bounds and wife Shelli, grandchildren, Tiffany Hall Wilson and husband Brandon, Kristen Hall, Joe Hall and wife Lauren, Mary Susan Hall Pitre and husband Richard, Jacob Hall, Kaci Bounds Burton and husband Ross, Drew Bounds and wife Chelsea, and Warren East. great grandchildren, Slade Wilson, Blane Wilson, Jud Wilson, Drake Wilson, Tex Wilson, Tuf Wilson, Colt Wilson, Georgia Lee Hall, Julianna Hall, Cannon Hall, Milena Pitre, Chance Burton, Chet Burton and Beau Bounds.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Bailey Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018, in the Chapel of Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado, AR, with Rev. Benjy McCann officiating. Interment will be in the Jolley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR.
